Agate is essentially an amorphous form of silica. Due to it's inherent physical characterics it is very hard - 6.5 on the Moh's scale. Agate mortars are primarily used for applications demanding contamination-free results.
Our ISO-certified manufacturer uses only top-quality semi-precious stones which are cut and then polished for the best possible finish. Deviations from the sizes and volumes shown are due to the characteristics of the individual stone and are not cause for complaint.
